Catherine has worked in the mental health field for 30 years. She began her career in Texas and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas in 1991. She worked in a variety of settings including an adoption agency, psychiatric hospital, and an outpatient community mental health center.

Catherine has also worked in the mental health field in Colorado and Minnesota. She has held the position of Executive Director for long term care facilities, substance abuse treatment centers, and community mental health clinics in these states.
​
Catherine moved to the Shoals area in 2018 and obtained her LPC license in the state of Alabama. She started Beacon Counseling and Consulting Services in 2019.
​
Catherine’s therapeutic approach with clients is client-centered. This is a collaborative approach based on the idea that clients have the ability to make decisions and change their behaviors with the support of their therapist.
